Registration

Midwives are required by law to be registered with the regulatory authority (College) in the province or territory where they intend to practise. Internationally-educated applicants must successfully complete an assessment process to demonstrate that they have the skills, knowledge, and abilities required of registered midwives in Canada.

Registration Requirements

The requirements for full registration as a midwife differ by province or territory. This chart shows what is required in each province or territory.
